East Jordan Building Confidence as 2018 Season Commences

EAST JORDAN – After posting just its second winning campaign in decade in 2016, East Jordan took a step back in 2017, going 1-8.

The Red Devils have recorded just two winning seasons since last making the playoffs in 2003, with winning campaigns coming in 2013 and 2016.

“Our skilled positions are a little heavier than they’ve been in the past, which is good because those are the guys that run and they need to be replaced to stay fresh, so we’re looking to roll a lot of people,” East Jordan coach Greg Kitson said.

The Red Devils have non-conference matchups with Elk Rapids, Charlevoix and Mancelona on their slate.

“We all get along really well, and I don’t know, I just feel we all have the confidence is there this year that we haven’t had in previous years,” East Jordan senior Cooper Stevenson said.

East Jordan kicks off its season on the road at Harbor Springs on Thursday, Aug. 23.
