Fremont Focused on Snapping Skid

FREMONT – As the second week of practice nears its conclusion, Fremont has its sights set on ending one of the area’s longest losing streaks.

The Packers have recorded three consecutive losing seasons and have lost 27 straight, last posting a victory over Montague in Week 9 of the 2014 season.

“Going into the year right now, Evart, in nonconference opening next Thursday. And that is going to be a turning point for us this season when we take Evart down here on our home field,” Fremont coach Rich Tank said.

The Packers have a schedule that features five opponents that reached the playoffs in 2017, including a non-conference tilt with McBain.

Fremont opens its season at home against Evart on Friday, Aug. 24. Evart won last year’s meeting 39-8.
