Young Crossroads Looks to Snap Skid

BIG RAPIDS – With only three seniors on its roster, Big Rapids Crossroads begins its second week of two-a-days.

After posting consecutive 0-9 seasons, Crossroads is in search of its first win since a Week 7 victory over Covert in the 2015 season.

“I would just love to win at least some games,” Crossroads senior Matthew Begeman said. “We were 0-9 last year so we’re really hoping we change that. We don’t want to be in a total drought. Especially because it’s my senior year and it would be very special to get a win this year.”

Crossroads is scheduled to travel to defending West Michigan D League champion Marion on Thursday, Aug. 30.

“With a small team it really helps you know everybody and know everybody’s weaknesses and strengths and can encourage them to do better on weaknesses but you can also help them and know how to improve their strengths tenfold,” Crossroads senior Keegan McKinnon said.
