Young, Talented Squad Taking Field for Harrison
HARRISON – With a youthful lineup taking the field this fall, Harrison is looking to break through in the Jack Pine Conference in 2018.
Harrison went 6-4 a year ago en route to posting its fourth consecutive season of .500 or better and fourth straight playoff appearance. The Hornets are still seeking their first postseason win since 1999.
“We had a handful of sophomores that we had brought up and they did a really good job last year on the JV level,” Harrison coach Jamie Lipovsky said. “I think we were 8-1 on JV so we’re looking like we got a pretty decent group of kids.”

With 10 seniors returning, the Hornets are confident they’ll have the leadership in place with a younger squad.
“We got a lot of younger kids coming up and they’re a lot bigger than myself and the other seniors, but they’re cool people and it’s going to be a fun year,” Harrison senior Gabe Shellito said.
Harrison kicks off its season at home against Lake City on Friday, Aug. 24. The Trojans won last year’s meeting and lead the all-time series at 8-7.
