Red Wings Open NHL Prospect Tournament with Loss

TRAVERSE CITY – The Detroit Red Wings opened their annual NHL Prospect Tournament at Traverse City’s Centre Ice Arena with a 4-2 loss on Friday.

The eight-team tournament featured four games on Friday, with the Dallas Stars also earning a 7-5 win over the New York Rangers.

In Friday’s earlier action, the Carolina Hurricanes handed the St. Louis Blues a 4-1 loss, while the Columbus Blue Jackets skated to a 4-3 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.
