Ludington Falls to Hudsonville Unity Christian in State Semis

CEDAR SPRINGS – Ninth-ranked Ludington closed out its season with a 4-0 loss to second-ranked Hudsonville Unity Christian in a Division 3 state semifinal Wednesday at Cedar Springs.

The Orioles trailed 3-0 at the half.

“Just a huge testament to our program and to those guys,” Ludington coach Kris Anderson said. “We don’t rebuild, we reload. And we reloaded this year. We came and we lost to a very good team. That Unity team is extremely good and that’s why they’re No. 2 in the state and playing in the state final because of how good they are.”

Ludington was making its second straight appearance in a semifinal after recording a Division 3 state runner-up finish a year ago.

Unity Christian (22-2-1) will now face Grosse Ile (27-1) for the state championship on Saturday.

The Orioles conclude their season at 19-5-2.
