CMU Women’s Basketball Hosts Scrimmage, Media Day

MT. PLEASANT – The 2017-2018 season for Central Michigan’s Women’s Basketball team was one for the history books.

Last year, they won the Mid-American conference title, the MAC Tournament, and also made it to the Sweet 16.

After a phenomenal season, coming into the next is always a challenge, but Team 51 is ready to blaze their own trail.

“New season, new team. And we cannot get caught looking in the rear view mirror, and I don’t think we have. And I don’t think our players are thinking that way whatsoever. We’re moving forward. You know, it’s Team 51, it’s time for a new team to leave a whatever legacy they are going to leave,” said head coach Sue Guevara after their exhibition match against Northwood on Thursday.

The Chippewas return seniors like Presley Hudson and Reyna Frost, but also have some younger and newer faces that will be getting their chance to take the court as well.

Their first official game is against Oakland on Nov. 8.
