Ferris State Women’s Soccer Earns First NCAA Tournament Bid

BIG RAPIDS – The Ferris State women’s soccer team’s historic season will continue this week with the program’s first-ever NCAA Division II Tournament bid.

Ranked 14th nationally, the Bulldogs (15-3-3) earned the third seed in the Midwest Region and will host six-seed McKendree (13-4-1) Thursday at 2 p.m. Thursday’s winner will face either two-seed Ohio Valley (16-2-3) or seven-seed Ashland (10-4-5) Saturday at noon in a semifinal in Big Rapids.

Ferris State is fresh off making its first-ever appearance in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament championship, where it fell to Grand Valley State 4-0 on Sunday.

Ferris State is one of four GLIAC schools in the NCAA tournament, joining Grand Valley, Saginaw Valley State and Ashland.
