Kabush, Woodruff Win 29th Iceman Cometh Challenge

TRAVERSE CITY – It is a Northern Michigan tradition. Today thousands of people hopped on their bikes for the annual Iceman Cometh Challenge.

At Williamsburg Road, Peter Disera had a slim lead over a large group, but by the finish line, last year’s winner Geoff Kabush (1:31:46) took over to win it again.

On the women’s side, Chloe Woodruff (1:46:57) claimed her third Iceman Cometh title.

“It’s so beautiful out there. It’s great to have everyone cheering us on at the finish,” says Woodruff.

“It’s awesome to come here to the finish with such a crowd, and it’s a great way to finish off my mountain bike season,” says Kabush.

Locally, Grayling’s Jorden Wakeley finished in 13th, while Traverse City’s Susan Vigland finished in eighth.
