McKay’s 27 Paces CMU Men Past Concordia in Season Opener

MT. PLEASANT – Kevin McKay scored a game-high 27 points and the Central Michigan men’s basketball team opened its 2018-19 season with a 98-67 win over Concordia University at McGuirk Arena on Tuesday.

The Chippewas (1-0) held a 41-25 lead at the half and placed three scorers in double figures, with Shawn Roundtree and Larry Austin tallying 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Jalen Thompson led the NAIA Cardinals (1-2) with 17 points and five rebounds.

CMU is back in action Friday at home against Chicago State. The game tips at 7 p.m.
