Petoskey Continues Fast Start in Win over TC Central

TRAVERSE CITY – Kyle Hebner scored twice and tallied two assists and Petoskey opened Big North Conference play with a 6-1 win over Traverse City Central on Wednesday.

The Northmen (3-0, 1-0) held a 2-1 lead through two periods of Wednesday’s contest as Petoskey has now outscored opponents 18-3 through three games.

Andrew VanAntwerp matched Hebner’s goal count with two of his own. Brendan Baker registered a goal and an assist for Petoskey while Max Koch tallied the other goal. Derek Hebner assisted on three Northmen goals while teammates Trevor Reece and Noah Dallos had an assist apiece.

Evan McCombs scored the lone goal for the Trojans (0-3, 0-1) as Josh Stepke and Chase Adams assisted on the goal.

Central is back in action Friday, traveling to Houghton, while Petoskey welcomes in league foe Alpena Saturday afternoon.
