TC West Hosts Fall Signing Day
TRAVERSE CITY – Three-time Miss Golf honoree Anika Dy was joined by three fellow senior student-athletes for a signing day at Traverse City West on Wednesday.
Dy, who won her third straight MHSAA Division 1 individual state championship last month, signed with the University of Michigan on Wednesday.
“I’m just so excited to be able to travel to all of these places that they play at for tournaments, and be able to represent what Michigan is all about,” Dy said.
Morgan Lyon is taking her talents across the Mackinac Bridge and joining Northern Michigan’s cross country and track and field programs.
“I love to run, and I’d love to be at a competitive school, like Northern,” she said. “Definitely the education was what I was looking for first.”
Brendan Pierce will travel to North Carolina and play baseball at Wingate University.
“My experience here as a Titan has definitely set me up for success,” Pierce said. “We do a lot of leadership work at practice, and (Coach) Bocian just really makes it known that the leaders are the leaders.”
Katey Bank is set to join the rowing program at Merrimack College.
“I saw a lot of my friends going off and rowing in college, and I myself fell in love with it,” Bank said. “I couldn’t give it up after I graduated high school, so I wanted to go further, and see, and push myself.”
