Bay Reps Host Annual Alumni Game

TRAVERSE CITY – The Bay Reps hosted their second annual alumni game on Wednesday, welcoming 30 former players back to compete on the ice.

The alumni organization helped raise money for a new scholarship named after Rick Deneweth, a team president who passed away a few years ago.

“He had a lot of big hopes and dreams for what this organization could be in a couple of years.  We implemented a scholarship in his name to give back to a graduating senior, every year, in the amount of a thousand dollars,” said Andrew Dzierwa, a member of the Bay Reps Alumni Foundation. “So for everyone to get out, for one night a year, especially around the holidays is fantastic, especially when you’re giving back to the program directly.”

The Rick Deneweth Character Scholarship will be given to a Bay Reps senior who best exemplifies the qualities of leadership, work ethic and character.

The White team beat the Blue team, 14-10.
