Scott Miller Memorial Hockey Tournament Starts Thursday

TRAVERSE CITY – Traverse City Central will host the annual Scott Miller Memorial Hockey Tournament, starting Thursday with eight hockey teams hitting the ice in Traverse City.

The tournament brings in plenty of talented teams, including a pair that made it to the state semifinal last year, Traverse City West and Saginaw Heritage.

“There’s some quality teams here for this, and it’s again, an opportunity for a young squad to go out and compete against what’s at least right now, in division one, the best of the best,” T.C. Central coach Chris Givens said. “So, it’s a good tournament. It’s three days of hockey and with eight teams, and if you’re a hockey fan, you certainly get your fix over the next three days.”

Here’s the schedule for Thursday’s matchups:

Saginaw Heritage vs. Salem, 6 p.m., Davids Rink

T.C. West vs. Bay Reps, 6:15 p.m., West Rink

Midland vs. Toledo St. John’s, 8:15 p.m., Davids Rink

T.C. Central vs. University Liggett, 8:30 p.m., West Rink
