Cadillac Bantam Hockey Team Competes Internationally

CADILLAC – The Cadillac Bantam Hockey team qualified to participate in this year’s International Silversticks Tournament in Ontario, Canada.

100 teams will compete, and the teams come from all over the United States and Canada.

Cadillac was one of just two teams chosen from the Midwest.

“Not many teams get to go to this tournament, and it makes it a big deal for a lot of teams, so I feel pretty good that my team should do well. It should be fun,” says Cole Mortensen.

The team took first place in the Midland Tournament, which earned them a bid to play in Canada.

“It’s a really big deal to all of us because we’ve developed such a good bond together. We’re family, so to go up there and experience it, it’s a good thing,” says Kaleb McKinley.

They left for Ontario Wednesday, and tied their first game 1-1 Thursday morning.

The Cadillac Bantam Hockey team plays again Thursday, Jan. 10 at 2:00 p.m.
