Coaches’ Profile: Ferris State’s Andy Bronkema

BIG RAPIDS – A year after leading the Ferris State men’s basketball program to a national championship, McBain native Andy Bronkema has the Bulldogs closing in on another 20-win campaign.

A two-time All-America honoree at Cornerstone University, Bronkema served as an assistant coach at Ferris State from 2007-13 before taking over the head coaching reins in June 2013. Since taking over, Bronkema’s teams have gone 140-50 and posted four consecutive 20-win seasons and won four straight Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament championships.

Bronkema’s 2017-18 team made history be winning the NCAA Division II national championship and going 38-1, which included a 26-game win streak.
