DeWald Claims 3rd I-500 Win

SAULT STE. MARIE – Au Gres native Troy DeWald won his third International 500 snowmobile race on Saturday in the 51st running of the country’s largest such event.

DeWald capped off an already outstanding week in Sault Ste. Marie after claiming the pole for the 500-lap feature and Thursday’s 24th Woody’s Challenge. The Woody’s Challenge win was DeWald’s third straight.

Driving the Cadarette Collision Racing/Arctic Cat entry, DeWald was joined on the sled by Bill Wilkes and Ryan Spencer, who won their second and first I-500 races, respectively.

Hoos Racing and Little Caesar’s Racing rounded out the top three, with Yovich Racing and WV Racing finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
