Ferris State Falls to Bemidji State in OT

BIG RAPIDS – Ferris State dropped its third straight game on the ice with a 4-3 loss in overtime to visiting Bemidji State on Friday.

The Bulldogs (7-21-2, 4-16-1-1) trailed 1-0 after the opening period but took a 2-1 lead to the third on goals from Hunter Wendt and Lucas Finner.

Charlie Combs scored the overtime winner for the Beavers (14-12-4, 12-8-2-0).

Ferris State’s Trevor Recktenwald tied the game at 3-3 with 10 seconds remaining in regulation.

Justin Kapelmaster was saddled with the loss after turning away 34 shots.

The two teams conclude their two-game series Saturday at 7:07 p.m.
