Frost’s 39 Points Propels CMU To Victory Over NIU

MOUNT PLEASANT – In their MAC West showdown Saturday afternoon, the CMU women’s basketball team never trailed the Northern Illinois Huskies.

At halftime, the Chippewas had a 40-24 lead.

During their matchup, senior forward Reyna Frost scored 39 points, a career high, and grabbed 13 rebounds. This is her 23rd double-double of the season.

“I think our guards were really penetrating,” said Frost. “They were doing a good job of getting down hill and they were just leaving me open and I think basically all my threes were just wide open and I just knocked them down today so a lot of credit goes to them for getting to the basket and finding me.”

Central Michigan defeated Northern Illinois 76-52 and advance to 11-3 in the MAC and 19-6 overall. They are now just one win away from clinching a tie for the MAC West title.

Next up for CMU is Ball State on February 27.
