Gaylord Trio Signs NLIs

GAYLORD – A trio of Gaylord senior gridders signed their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.

Linebacker Matt Wilson will join Northern Michigan and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference after All-Big North Conference honors three times.

“I’ve always wanted to play football, and like the fact that I can play it where I actually want to go to college is pretty awesome,” he said.

Offensive lineman Bryce Neff is also taking his talents to the U.P. and is headed to Michigan Tech. A four-year starter and team captain for three seasons, Neff earned Honorable Mention All-State honors and plans to study environmental engineering.

“They were really the first school that’s ever really given me the opportunity, and just, they showed they believed in me and that meant a lot to me,” he said.

Linebacker James Miller is joining the Mid-American Conference and Bowling Green.

“They have a brand new coaching staff this year, and I really seem to like all of them there,” Miller said. “They’re all real football coaches and you can tell they really love what they’re doing down there.”
