Hudson Becomes All-Time Leading Scorer In Showdown Against Ohio
MOUNT PLEASANT – The last time the Central Michigan women’s basketball team faced off against Ohio, the Chippewas came home victorious 88-70.
Saturday at McGuirk Arena it was a different story.
The Bobcats left Mount Pleasant with the 78-75 victory, with the game coming down to the final 0.3 seconds.
A shining moment during the loss, making the day bittersweet for CMU, was Presley Hudson becoming the all-time leading scorer.
“It’s a big deal what you just did,” said head coach Sue Guevara to Hudson after the game. “And unfortunately, it gets shadowed because we lost the game, and I will tell you, she would have rather not scored the record, but won the game. And the other thing is, we’ve still got a lot of games left this season and that’s going to be really hard to break.”
Hudson passed Melvin “Sugar” McLaughlin who scored 2,071 for CMU from 1980-83.
The Chippewas fall to 16-6 overall and 7-3 in the MAC.
They face Western Michigan next on February 13 on the road.
