Manistee’s Johns, Sandstedt Announce College Choices
MANISTEE – Manistee senior student-athletes Trevor Johns and Jack Sandstedt signed their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.
Johns is taking his talents to Michigan Tech’s football program while his football teammate Sandstedt is pursuing his track and field career as a middle-district runner at Davenport.
“I’ve been working for this for so long now, and it’s finally happened,” Johns said. “When I went and visited Tech, I started to, I kinda fell in love with the campus, and the people up there.”

Although he’ll be appearing at wide receiver for Michigan Tech, Johns quarterbacked the Chippewas to an undefeated regular season and a Lakes 8 Conference championship in 2018, rushing for 20 touchdowns.
“I was looking at other D2 schools, and once I got to Davenport, I just kind of knew,” Sandstedt said. “They have a very good business program, and that’s what I’m looking to go into.”
Sandstedt is interested in studying sports management while Johns plans to study civil engineering.
