Marquardt’s 29 Leads LSSU Men Past Wayne State

SAULT STE. MARIE – Lake Superior State improved to 8-6 in GLIAC play with a big 90-66 win over visiting Wayne State on Thursday.

Blake Marquardt led all scorers with a game-high 29 points and shot 7-of-14 from 3-point range while Traverse City Central alum Jackson Schrameyer tallied 19 points and six rebounds on 9-of-11 shooting.

The Lakers (12-8, 8-6) rolled out to a 49-28 lead by halftime en route to the second straight win.

Malek Adams also finished in double figures for LSSU with 18 points.

Javon Henderson led the Warriors with 23 points and eight boards.

LSSU hosts Ashland Saturday at 3 p.m.
