Big Rapids Blanks Mt. Pleasant In Regional Final

BIG RAPIDS – After one period of play on Saturday night, the Cardinals of Big Rapids lead the way 1-0 over Mt. Pleasant.

The jets were turned on starting in the second period, when junior Cameron Massy scored two goals within minutes of each other.

After that, the Cardinals scored another 5 unanswered goals. That put the mercy rule into effect in the third period.

They defeated the Oilers 8-0, becoming regional champions for the third year in a row.

Big Rapids moves on to the quarterfinals where they will play East Grand Rapids on Wednesday, March 6 at 7:50 pm. That game will take place at The Summit Sports and Ice Complex in Dimondale.
