Central Michigan Softball Gets Fired Up for Home Opener

MT. PLEASANT – The Central Michigan softball team is getting ready for their 2019 home opener.

The Chippewas host Michigan Tuesday.

So far this season, CMU has an 11-15 overall record and is 2-1 in MAC play.

As Tuesday approaches, the Chips are coming off their first three conference games. They won the weekend series 2-1 against Miami (OH).

“It is just great to be home and have our own fans here because we have tremendous support from our fans. It is important that we can be home to have them see for themselves,” said Margo Jonker, head coach.

“It is always exciting being back on our home field, so we are just excited to get out there. Anytime we get to play on here it is exciting, regardless of who we play,” added Kayla Noch, senior.

First pitch is slated for 4:00 p.m.
