Central Michigan Women End Season with First Round Loss to Michigan State
SOUTH BEND, IN – No. 8 Seed Central Michigan took on No. 9 Seed Michigan State in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Saturday.
Shay Colley hit a bucket with just seven seconds left in the game to advance the Spartans onto the next round to face Notre Dame with the 88-87 victory over the Chippewas.
“It has been a treat for me. It has been a blessing. Those seniors made me a better coach,” said Sue Guevara, head coach.
“It has been really special playing with Jaeda and Presley for the past four years. I think my coaches did a good job developing me each year. I have a lot of memories to look back on. I am just going to look back on the positive things and be thankful for what I had the last four years,” added Reyna Frost, senior.
Frost ended her career with 34 points in the game against MSU. Hudson contributed 20. Sophomore Micaela Kelly also had a big day, scoring 24 points for the Chippewas.
CMU ends their season with a 25-8 overall record.
