Ludington Rolls Past Alma, Punches Semifinal Ticket

MT. PLEASANT – For the second time in three years, the Ludington boys basketball team is headed to the state semifinals and Breslin Center.

Facing Alma (19-4) in a Division 2 state quarterfinal on Tuesday, Ludington (14-10) rolled to a 65-32 victory after starting the postseason below .500.

The Orioles, who finished runner-up in Class B in 2017, took a 27-19 lead to the half and expanded their lead to 22 by the end of the third quarter with a 46-24 edge.

Ludington will now face Hudsonville Unity Christian (24-2) in a state semifinal at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Unity Christian handed Grand Rapids South Christian a 71-45 loss on Tuesday.
