Pellston Rolls by Cedarville for 1st Regional Title Since 2012
ST. IGNACE – Junior Blake Cassidy scored his 1,000th career point and sixth-ranked Pellston captured its first regional title since 2012 with a 82-68 win over Cedarville in a Division 4 regional final on Thursday.
The Hornets held a 22-14 lead after the opening quarter behind 15 points from Cassidy and extended their lead to 43-28 at the half.

Cassidy scored a game-high 37 points in the win. Teammate Tanner Byard tallied 18 while Colin Robbins and Zavin Goodrich chipped in with 12 and 10.
With the loss, Cedarville ends its season at 18-6.

Pellston (23-2) will now face Dollar Bay in a quarterfinal Tuesday at Escanaba. Dollar Bay handed Crystal Falls Forest Park a 64-48 loss on Thursday.
Tuesday’s game is slated for 7 p.m.
