Reed City’s Monty Price Departs for Belding

REED CITY – Longtime Reed City head football coach Monty Price is leaving the program and taking the head coaching job at Belding.

Price, who will enter his 25th season as a coach in 2019, joined Reed City in 1999 after coaching at Chippewa Hills and Montabella.

Price’s Coyotes recorded 10 or more wins in seven of the previous eight seasons, captured eight consecutive Central State Activities Association Gold division titles and made the playoffs in 15 of his 20 seasons. Reed City also won three district championships a regional championship and a Division 5 state semifinal appearance in 2017.

He joins a Belding program that has made three consecutive playoff appearances and won the 1997 and 1994 Class B state championships and finished runner-up in 1998 and 1996.
