Pit Spitters Announce Inaugural Roster
TRAVERSE CITY – The Traverse City Pit Spitters announced their 2019 roster for their inaugural Northwoods League campaign.
The roster is highlighted by a pair of MLB draft picks, three Big Ten Conference players and 10 Michigan natives.
Saginaw Heritage alum and Nebraska freshman infielder/right-handed pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach is one of two Pit Spitters to be drafted. Schwellenbach was taken by the Cleveland Indians in the 34th round of the 2018 MLB Draft. Bowling Green junior outfielder Jake Wilson was also drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 39th round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
Michigan State is represented on the roster by junior infielder Andrew Morrow and sophomore catcher Adams Proctor while the Mid-American Conference will have four players on the roster.
In all, the Pit Spitters’ roster is made up of players from 10 states and one Canadian province.
