Charlevoix’s Hankins Works Out With Golden State
CHARLEVOIX — Former Charlevoix and Ferris State star Zach Hankins he worked out with the Golden State Warriors. He told 9 and 10 News that he worked out with the team on Wednesday.
As a junior at Ferris State, Hankins led the Bulldogs to their first Div. 2 National Title. He earned Div. 2 National Player of the Year honors that season, averaging 15.1 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game. He also led the nation with 128 blocks for the second straight year.
He transferred to Xavier for his final season of college basketball. He led the Big East with a 68.9% field goal percentage. That also broke Xavier’s single-season record.
The Golden State Warriors are the reigning NBA champions, and they have won three of the last four titles.
