CMU Earns Spot in Starkville Regional, Will Face Miami (Fla.)
MT. PLEASANT — Central Michigan baseball won its first conference title since 1995 on Saturday, securing an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Chippewas found out on Monday that they will be the No. 3 seed in the Starkville Regional and will face second-seeded Miami (Fla.) to start the tournament.
Mississippi State holds the top seed in the regional and will open up against Southern at 1 p.m. on Friday. CMU will play against the Hurricanes on Friday at 8 p.m.
The Chippewas have had one of their best seasons under first-year head coach Jordan Bischel. They are one victory away from tying the program record with wins, as they currently sit at 46 victories. They have also won 18 straight games.
The regional tournament is double elimination.
