Kingsley Girls Track Preps For Regionals

KINGSLEY – The Kingsley girls track team has had a successful season so far in 2019.

The Stags have been in the top 5 teams of the Division 3 rankings for most of the season.

“I think that all of our hard work has paid off,” said junior Brittany Bowman.

“It’s pretty awesome, we try to stay humble about it, we’re just trying to focus on doing our best and I don’t think it’s really affected us in a negative way but it’s pushed us to keep it going,” added junior Sidny Hessem.

With regionals coming up on Saturday, they want to keep their strong team focus and rely on their coaches for guidance, as they hope to pursue their first state title since 1998.

“I feel like a lot of our success that we have comes from our veteran coaching staff,” said head coach Amanda Hessem. “The girls are great girls. They work hard every single day, they are goal driven and they deserve a victory.”

“We have a very good bond. At meets, you rarely see us in the tent, we’re always up cheering on everything, between all the different field events and running events. It’s truly something special to be apart of,” said senior Samantha Endres.

The regional meet begins at 9 am at Manton on Saturday.
