Kingsley Hires Stewart as Boys Basketball Coach

KINGSLEY — Kingsley High School announced that Jason Stewart will be the new boys basketball coach for next season.

Stewart coached the Mesick boys basketball team from 2006-2011, and most recently served as the JV boys basketball coach at Traverse City St. Francis.

“I’m very excited about being part of a great community with so much internal and external support for both their academics and athletics,” Stewart said in a press release. “Kingsley is a town full of pride.  That pride is a result of continuous high expectations for both staff and students. My plan is to instill these same concepts into our basketball program.  There is a solid core of student athletes in our high school right now that can, with the right attitude and work ethic, be the stepping stone toward future success in the Kingsley basketball program.”

Stewart looks to turn over a program that went 3-18 last season and last had winning record during the 2012-13 season.
