Pit Spitters Award Grant to TC Legion Junior Baseball
TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Pit Spitters awarded a $2,500 grant of Rawlings equipment to Traverse City Legion Junior Baseball on Thursday.
The equipment includes catcher’s gear, batting helmets, fielding gloves, practice baseballs and six bats.
“This is a great way for us to partner with the local baseball leagues. One of our core values is to be part of the Northern Michigan community, and we’re proud to give the American Legion this gift.” Pit Spitters General Manager Mickey Graham said in a press release.
The grant was a part of the Northwoods League Foundation’s Share the Glove program.
The Pit Spitters start their season on May 28 at home against the Green Bay Booyah at 7:05 p.m.
