Report: Red Wings’ Holland To The Oilers

DETROIT – After being moved positions a few weeks ago with the return of Steve Yzerman, Ken Holland is reportedly in talks with the Edmonton Oilers.

According to reports from Elliotte Friedman, analyst on Hockey Night in Canada, Holland is currently debating over a five year contract worth over $25 million to become their general manager.

Holland was just promoted to senior vice president of the Detroit Red Wings on April 19 after it was announced Steve Yzerman was named general manager. With this promotion for Holland came a multi-year contract.

Holland has been with the Wings’ organization for 36 years, with 22 of those years as the general manager. The Red Wings won three Stanley Cups during that span.

A final decision from Holland should be announced in the next few days.
