Crystal Mountain Set to Host Michigan PGA Women’s Open
THOMPSONVILLE – Some of the best female golfers from across the state will be in northern Michigan next week for the Michigan PGA Women’s Open at Crystal Mountain Resort’s Mountain Ridge course.
The three-round, 54-hole tournament begins Monday and runs through Wednesday and is free to spectators.
“The Michigan Women’s Open is a summer tradition for us, and we’re really proud to be able to host this event year after year,” said director of public relations for Crystal Mountain Brian Lawson. “We’ll have upwards of about 90 players this year, and it’s entertaining to watch, because in most years it often comes down to the 18th hole, and who hits that last putt. And it’s always exciting to watch.”
The tournament will feature Traverse City natives Anika Dy and Hunter Kehoe as well as Empire’s Nichole Cox. DeWitt native and Symetra Tour professional Elizabeth Nagel won last year’s event.
The first round tees of at 8 a.m. Monday.
