Rogers City Rallies Past Rudyard, Punches Semifinal Bid

PETOSKEY – Karissa Rabeau’s two-out two-run single in the top of the sixth propelled No. 4 Rogers City to a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Rudyard in a MHSAA Division 4 state quarterfinal Tuesday at Petoskey.

The 2014 Division 4 state champions, Rogers City will make its second straight state semifinal appearance on Friday, while Rudyard finishes its season at 22-10.

The Bulldogs broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth of Tuesday’s quarterfinal.

Rogers City will face No. 9 Unionville-Sebewaing in a semifinal at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Michigan State. Unionville-Sebewaing shutout honorable mention Allen Park Inter-City Baptist 13-0 in a quarterfinal Tuesday. The Patriots won the 2015 and 2016 Division 4 state championships.
