Sacred Heart Golf Gearing Up For Finals
MOUNT PLEASANT – The Sacred Heart boys golf team is preparing for state finals Friday and Saturday.
“It’s a huge weekend and we’re excited,” said head coach Andrew Doerr.
The season for Sacred Heart has been very successful, but fun as well. They’ve held a spot in the top 10 rankings for most of the season, including a reign at number one.
“I think it went amazing,” said Michael Zanoni, a sophomore. “We had a lot of good rounds out there and we had a lot of fun doing it, and we’ve improved a lot off of last year so it was a lot of fun.”
“I was honestly really surprised when our coach first told us, I mean, not to sound cocky, I knew we were good but I didn’t know we were that good,” said senior Patrick Ervin.
Their hard work has paid off and all comes to a head for the end of the season.
“He’s just telling us we have a really good chance to do something special that probably won’t happen for years to come for Sacred Heart golf, so we got to show up and play our game,” said senior Evan Chomchai.
They tee off on Friday and Saturday at Grand Valley State.
