Cadillac Ready to Shake off 2018
CADILLAC – After going a combined 3-15 over the last two years, Cadillac is looking shake off one of its worst stretches since the early 2000s.
The Vikings went 1-8 in 2018, but lost four of those games by nine points or less, with their lone victory being a 14-13 win over Alpena.
“The big thing from last year is we had a lot of games that were really tight,” Cadillac coach Cody Mallory said. “We kind of let some slip for one reason or another, and so the lesson there is we weren’t very far away.”
“Last year we worked hard but we didn’t work hard in a direction with everybody,” added Cadillac senior Tipp Baker. “Now we’re going to be together and do it right.”
With four of the six Big North Conference teams reaching the playoffs a year, the league is looking as strong as ever, and Cadillac knows ts can’t afford to commit the small mistakes it did last year.
“We’re really trying to focus on getting all the little stuff fixed, because last year it was just small mistakes where were we lost the game and we got to fix that to get it going and win some games,” Cadillac senior Alex Barczewski said.
Cadillac opens its season at home against Lake Fenton on Thursday, Aug. 29.
