Current, Former Bulldogs Gather for Annual Bulldog Hockey Classic-Alumni Golf Outing

BIG RAPIDS – From the ice to the greens, current and former hockey players played golf Saturday in the 33rd Annual Bulldog Hockey Classic-Alumni Golf Outing.

The Ferris State University men’s ice hockey program hosted the event at Katke Golf Course.

Several notable alumni participated, including Detroit Red Wings head coach, Jeff Blashill and NHL defenseman and Traverse City native, Zach Redmond.

Ferris State head coach, Bob Daniels, loves to catch up with his former players.

“Probably my favorite day of the year when it deals with events that we do. I really enjoy connecting with past players, finding out a lot of them are married now with kids and sometimes their kids are going off to college already, so it is great just to catch up and find out how everybody is doing,” said Daniels.

The outing is a major fundraiser for the Bulldog hockey program and sold out for the eighth straight year.

Ferris State’s season begins on Sunday, October 6.
