Grant Making Every Play Count in 2019

GRANT – With a young but experienced roster returning, Grant is setting out to make every play and every day count in 2019.

The Tigers appeared primed to return to the playoffs for a third consecutive year last fall but dropped their final three games to end their year at 4-5.

“We always look back and think we have to get better to come back for this year,” Grant junior Brendan Keelan said. “All the work we put in the offseason definitely shows out here on the field.”

“We call last season a dip,” added Grant coach Darren Geraghty. “The first two years we got it rolling pretty quickly and made the playoffs. The film study we’ve done in the offseason, we’ve come up with about 22 plays out of those five losses that could have changed things. One of the things we’re focusing on this year is our hashtags are ‘Every day counts. Every play counts. And hard work wins.’”

Grant opens its season on the road at Shelby on Thursday, Aug. 29. The Tigers won last year’s meeting 20-13.
