Inland Lakes Looks to Get Back to Winning in 2019

INDIAN RIVER – Inland Lakes enters the 2019 season looking to snap a 13-game losing skid.

The Bulldogs posted their second winless campaign in three years last fall and have struggled offensively the last three years.

The program returns 12 seniors that are hungry to pick up their first winning season since 2015.

“They’re optimistic and they want to win some games,” Inland Lakes coach Travis Meyer said. “They want to go some places. And a lot of them would love to see the playoffs. We’re very, very focused on learning and getting better.”

“We know how to work with each other and joke around with each other without, you know, any real conflicts,” added Inland Lakes senior David Burkhart. “I think that’s going to translate to the field real well with everybody being able to trust their teammates to do their job.”

Inland Lakes opens its season at home on Thursday. The Bulldogs won the last meeting in 2015, 18-6.
