Livermore Ready for 1st Season with Brimley
BRIMLEY – The Brimley football program welcomes in a new head coach this fall as Lester Livermore takes over the coaching reins.
Livermore inherits a program that went 1-8 a year ago and is searching for its first playoff bid since 2011 and first winning season since 2004.
With only seven players returning, the Bays expect an adjustment period.
“My biggest thing is early in the season, we’re probably going to look younger than we really are,” Livermore said. “I think we have enough talent to make some noise, but we have a lot of learning to do. They’ve been picking it up really fast.”
“I think people are excited with the whole new look to the Brimley team,” added Brimley senior Garrett Johnson. “New coach, different people on the team. I think people are excited to see what we can do.”
Brimley opens its season on the road at defending 8-player Division 2 state champion Rapid River on Thursday. The Rockets won last year’s meeting 80-55.
