Veteran Charlton Heston Roster Eyes Success in 2019

ST. HELEN – Charlton Heston Academy enters Year 6 of its high school football program with a veteran and experienced roster.

The Patriots have combined to go just 5-38 over the previous five years, including a 1-8 mark in 2018, but feature a lineup this fall that includes six seniors that are entering their fourth year of varsity play.

“We have six seniors that have played four years here, so, you know, they’ve really set the bar high this year and we have high expectations,” Charlton Heston coach Mark Church said. “They’re very disciplined this year. They’re just hungry. They want to have a successful season.”

“A lot of energy out here, a lot of good energy,” added Charlton Heston senior Tyler Lorenz. “I feel like we’re really pushing the younger kids to do better.”

Charlton Heston opens its 2019 campaign at home against Atlanta on Thursday, Aug. 29. The two teams split their meetings last season, with Charlton Heston claiming the season opener 38-20.
