Beal City Looks to Build off 2018 Quarterfinal Run

BEAL CITY – After reaching the Division 3 state quarterfinals a year ago, Beal City has its sights set on making a trip to Battle Creek and its first state finals appearance since 2013.

The Aggies graduated just four seniors from last year’s squad that went 36-8-3 and have appeared in all three of the Michigan Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association’s Division 3 state polls this season, most recently checking in as an honorable mention.

“I always ask the girls at the beginning of the season what their goals are and this year their goals were going to Battle Creek. We fell one game short of getting to Battle Creek,” Beal City coach and program alum Jade Kennedy said. “This year is getting to Battle Creek and being able to play in those semifinals and that state final game. Definitely getting much farther than we did last year.”

The Aggies travel to Highland Conference foe Roscommon on Thursday.
