By the Numbers 2019: Week 3 in Review

From Teague Donazzolo program-record performance in Central Montcalm’s win over Newaygo to Gaylord St. Mary’s 85-point scoring output in a victory over Central Lake, Week 3 of the 2019 high school football season in northern Michigan saw plenty of great performances.

3 – Rushing touchdowns scored by Maurice Camphor of Big Raids in a 39-26 CSAA Gold victory over Fremont last Friday. Camphor rushed for 137 yards on 12 carries.
6 – Interceptions thrown by top-ranked Pickford in a 20-14 loss to third-ranked Powers North Central on Saturday.
6 – Touchdowns by Gaylord St. Mary’s Brady Hunter in an 85-8 win over Central Lake. Hunter also rushed for 271 yards.
11 – Lake City’s Highland Conference streak of 11 straight league wins was snapped with a 13-0 loss to Beal City last Friday.
20 – Total tackles by Pellston’s Joey Rizzardi in a 32-30 win over Au Gres-Sims last week. The Hornets improved to 3-0 in the process.
32 – Consecutive CSAA Gold wins by Reed City prior to an 8-6 loss to Grant on Friday. Prior to that loss, Reed City’s last conference defeat was to Newaygo on Sept. 12, 2014.
85 – Points scored by Gaylord St. Mary in an 85-8 win over Central Lake last Friday. It marked the second time the Snowbirds had eclipsed the 80-point mark this season. St. Mary opened its year with an 82-6 win over Manistee Catholic Central.
289 – Yards rushing by Central Montcalm senior running back Teague Donazzolo in a 34-28 CSAA Gold win over Newaygo last Friday. The 289 yards is a single-game program record.
291 – Yards passing by Vestaburg quarterback Kaleb Crooks in a 40-26 win over Bangor on Saturday. Crooks also threw for four touchdowns.
