Detroit Red Wings Continue Day Two of Training Camp

TRAVERSE CITY – The Detroit Red Wings continued their stay in northern Michigan on Saturday morning for day two of Training Camp at Centre Ice Arena.

Among the many young faces at camp this year, one is Taro Hirose.

Hirose signed with the Wings after finishing up his time at Michigan State. He was able to get time on the ice last year, appearing in 10 games and recording six assists.

“First training camp, you never know what to expect,” said Hirose. “But, to know the guys a little bit, and be able to ask questions and feel comfortable doing that has been a big plus for me. Just being familiar with the systems, and the way that Blash likes guys to play, I think gives me a little step over some of the guys that haven’t played at that level before. But, at the same time, with a new general manager, and a lot of new management, new faces, you know, you have to prove yourself every day.”

Next up at Training Camp is the Red and White Game on Sunday at 12 pm.
