Expectations High For Fremont Boys Cross Country in 2019
FREMONT – Success and high expectations come naturally for Fremont’s boys cross country program.
With eight state championship and six state runner-up finishes to their credit, the Packers are always in the conversation of state title contenders.
Fremont, which last won a state championship in 2015, finished runner-up in Division 2 a year ago and currently tops the poll of the most recent MichiganCrossCountry.com Division 2 rankings.
“We just want to try and get better every day and get better from one season to the next and that is kind of how the program is built. They take that pretty seriously that they want to make an impression that is positive and that lasts,” said head coach Cliff Somers.
“We want to keep making improvements, keep getting faster throughout the season and just keep meeting goals,” added junior Nathan Walker, “It is fun. It is definitely a lot of mentality stuff, but we just come out and we work hard and that is just how it goes.”
