Fan Caves of Northern Michigan: Jeff Kotimko of Gaylord

MISportsNow is traveling throughout northern Michigan this summer in search of the best fan caves. This is the 12th episode in the weekly series.

GAYLORD – Jeff Kotmiko of Gaylord’s fan cave features one of the most impressive and extensive Detroit Red Wings memorabilia collections of you’ll find.

From autographed photos, pucks and sticks to game-used items like helmets, pads and uniforms, you’ll find a little bit of everything in Kotmiko’s fan cave, including seats from the old Joe Louis Arena that his family once sat in as season-ticket holders.

“The seats are actually my parent’s seats that we had,” he said. “We had the same two seats in 1984, right up until the Joe had its last final farewell season. It was imperative to me to not just have any pair of seats but the pair that my family and I watched them play from many years there. I started sitting in these seats when I was 14 years old and it’s a big deal to me to have those.”
